Game 1 is in the books. One thing we learned is that the Bounty Points are going to be critical to the final standings this season. Go check out the Weekly Results page if you don’t believe me. For example, new guy Taber White finished 6th in Game 1 but ended up in 7th place in the first Leaderboard because John Combs (who finished 7th place) bountied defending league champ Gene Gaddy for a 20 point bonus, which bumped John ahead of Taber on the Leaderboard.

The folks at the final table ended up being the veterans from season’s past and there were a lot of bounties to be had at the final table —allowing Makeba, “Cowboy Hat” Allen, Brandon, and Eddie to gobble up some extra league points, thus giving them an early lead on the rest of us.

You may have noticed is that we had a half-dozen new players that have never played in the league before. Hopefully y’all saw a good time and we’ll see you for the remainder of the season—remember, it’s all about the season points and qualifying for the TOC/TOL. One thing missing in Game 1 was a lot of veterans to the league that decided they were so good, they wanted to let Keba get a head start (which he totally needs by the way).

Game 2, which you need to RSVP for at the bottom of this page, is May 25, 7pm. Yes, it’s Memorial Day Weekend—but you need to get your priorities straight….
